The SolaPlug makes solar heating more affordable
The SolaPlug converts your existing hot water cylinder into a twin coil solar cylinder. |
SolaPlug saves the purchase cost of a new cylinder.
|
SolaPlug saves the labour cost of fitting a new cylinder.
|
The carbon foot print of a SolaPlug installation is less enabling faster carbon as well as financial payback.
|
What Does A SolaPlug Do ?
 |
| Installation with Twin Coil Cylinder |
|
SolaPlug retrofitted to a "normal" cylinder |
The heat from the solar panel is transferred to the water via the bottom coil of the new solar cylinder.
Typically, fitting a new twin coil unvented cylinder costs as much as fitting the solar panel to the roof. |
|
The heat from the solar panel is transferred to the water via the SolarPlug fitted to the existing cylinder.
Providing a sound, efficient & cost effective retrofit solution. |
What is a SolaPlug ?
| ● A SolaPlug fits into your hot water tank and provides an additional heat exchanger to connect to your solar thermal panels. |
| ● SolaPlugs fit through the immersion port & are available for cylinders with vertical (top mounted) & horizontal (side mounted) immersions. |
|
●
SolaPlugs fit into vented & unvented cylinders.
|
| ● A SolaPlug installation is MCS compliant, RHI and Grant Eligible. |
|
 |

|
| SolaPlug is a practical retrofit option, compatible with all
solar thermal panels. |
| What are The benefits ? |
| ●
Saves installation time. |
| ● A SolaPlug installation is about 30% cheaper than a conventional installation using a new twin coil cylinder. |
| ● By retaining your existing tank, the carbon footprint of your solar installation is minimised. |
|
 |
| ● The internal heat exchanger placed low in the cylinder is more
efficient than external heat exchangers feeding into the
top |
| ● Saves the cost of buying & fitting a new cylinder. |
| ● Space in the airing cupboard remains unchanged. |
| ● Enables more home owners to justify fitting solar water heating. |
| SolaPlugs are designed & manufactured in the UK with full UK Patent Protection & European Pending |

There are 2 types of solar panel
| Solar Thermal Panels. |
| The sun's energy heats your hot water.
Pipes connect the solar panels to a heat exchanger ( coil ) in the hot
water tank, a pump circulates anti freeze in the solar circuit
transferring heat from the sun to your hot water cylinder. |
 |
| Solar thermal systems can be expected to
provide 60% of annual water heating. |
| The SolaPlug is for solar thermal, it plugs
into the existing hot water tank enabling solar heating to be
fitted more easily and cheaply. |
| The SolaPlug is compatible with all types of
solar thermal panels, pumps and controllers. |
|
| Solar Photo Voltaic Panels
(PV). |
The sun's energy is converted into
electricity. The PV panels generate a low voltage direct current (DC).
An inverter converts the DC current into mains voltage alternating (AC).
The electricity can be used in your home or fed back into the grid.
Under the government's Feed In Tariff ( FIT) scheme, the home owner is
paid for every unit of electricity generated. |
